Eat This not That

 I had just the oranges posing but I felt it needed something. My friend Natalie threw some candies next to them and I said why not. It's a  6" x 6" oil painting.

Purple Eggplant

 

I had some samples of William Morris wallpaper and I thought this eggplant looked so luscious sitting on top of it. I was called to paint. It is an 8" x 10" oil painted on a panel.

Morning

My sculpture was chosen to exhibit at the Warwick Museum of Art, "Celebrating RI Women in the Arts" exhibition. Opening Thursday March 8, 2012

Valentine Donut

I got this heart shaped donut at Dunkin Donuts and thought it would be appropriate for Valentine Day. It got a bit stale under a hot light but my husband still ate it. The painting is an oil measuring 6" x 6".

Only Ewe

The Ewe in this painting was from a photo taken by a friend when our plien air painting group was at a farm in eastern Rhode Island last summer. I forgot my camera that day and she kindly loan me this wonderful photo of a sheep that was very interested in watching us paint while her buddies were busy munching on a flower filled field. It is an oil measuring  6"x6".

Second Beach, Newport, RI

This painting was created from a photo I took on a very gray snowy day last year. My husband and I like to walk on snowy beaches. It is very quite and few people venture out. That is a prep school called St. George in the distance. The painting is oil and measures 9"x12".

Cairn

A cairn is mound of stone used as a landmark or on trails to help hikers find their way. This was painted in a studio setting at a class I am taking with a fellow RI artist named, Kelly MacDonald as the instructor. Check out her blog. http://kelleymacdonalddailypaint.blogspot.com/

Geisha

 I sculpted this figure from a model using a oil base clay a few years back. My husband, who is a sculptor just cast this for me using the bronze cold cast process. It was nice seeing it break free from it's plaster mold.

In the Garden

This painting was painted plien air at Watson's Farm which is located on Jamestown Is. It is a 8" x 8" oil painted on gesso board.

Down at the Jamestown D.E.M.

This painting was done at the Department of Enviromental Management on Jamestown Island. It's not as scary as the name states. It is a beautiful spot overlooking where the Narragansett Bay and the ocean meet. Right across in Newport, sits a large Victorian mansion where  Jackie and John Kennedy had their reception. It is her childhood home called Hammersmith Farm.
The painting is one of the boats owned by the D.E.M. It is an oil measuring 6"x 6".

Before the Storm

This painting was done at Narragansett area before Irene blew in. The waves were just starting to get rough. It is a 6"x6" oil painting on gesso board.

Wickford

This is a fast study I did while near Wickford R.I docks.

Lonely Pine

My plien air friends and I painted at a lovely spot located in Narragansett RI. This spot was on a private property across from where the tide water river called the Narrow's goes into the Ocean. It is a 12"x6" oil.

Beavertail Light House, Jamestown RI

This scene was painted  at Beavertail light house at the tip of Jamestown Island which is located in the Bay between the mainland and Newport RI. It was a very foggy windy day. I chose to paint a favorite out crop of rocks which are normally used as a fishing perch on better days. It is painted in oil and measures 8" x 8".

Newport, Rhode Island

I was at a very beautiful cove near Green Bridge on Ocean Drive. This painting is 8"x 8" and painted in oils.

A Little Bit of Spring

A little bit of Spring is 9" x 12" oil,  painted on a panel.

Sprinkles

I thought it was time for a donut painting. I paint sometimes with friends in a class. They always enjoy my food setups which are shared afterwards. This is a 9"x12" oil painting.

Three of a Kind

I love the color I ended up putting behind these pears. It is a 6"x 6" oil painting.

"Three Green Pears"

I got a beautiful wooden bowl as a present from a good friend recently. Wanting to use this in a painting I chose to arrange three pears sitting in it. This painting is now showing at the Wickford Art Association members show. The opening is Sunday March 20th between from 1:00-3:00PM. It is 6" x 6" oil framed in gold priced at $150.00

Grapes

This Grape painting was painted while I was at the Wickford Art Association. My painting group goes there during the winter months. We laugh and have a great time during these sessions. Maybe too much.

Orange II

  I am on to painting another nestled orange in a napkin.
  I guess I like the look of a protected orange.

One More

I decided to call this "One More" just because you might want one more bite. It had coconut on top and was yummy after painting during the day with it. I found it at a fabulous bakery in Bristol RI.

Bosc Pears

 

Pear are one of my favorite fruits to paint. I love the colors and shape.
