These peppers were found at a roadside stand. They reminded me of a spicy salsa.

Saw these at Stop and Shop and thought they would be fun to paint.

"Get Going While the Going is Good"

It looks like this little one is escaping. I always think of pumpkins when Fall rolls around. Fall is my favorite time of year, I guess because I love Halloween so much.
This painting is a 8"x 8" oil on gesso board.

Cliff Walk, Newport Rhode Island

I painted this scene when my plien air group was invited to paint on Salve Regina's property. Salve Regina is an old prominent college located in Newport, Rhode Island. This is the view from their administration building.
The view is part of the Cliff Walk along the ocean where many famous mansions are located. A beautiful walk which many tourist love taking during the summer months.
It is 9"x12" oil.

Cherries

This was painted when cherries were not as expensive back in August. I am only now able to post due to trouble photographing. I had to have a nice overcast day like today to photograph it outside while waiting for the remnants from hurricane Earl to arrive. :)
Cherries is a 6"x6" oil.

End of Summer

As Summer winds down gardeners empty pots and get ready for the change of season. I found this scene at a beautiful house located in Newport RI. where my plien air painting group painted last week.
End of Summer is a 8"x11" oil.

Summer Pears

I found this great piece of material (actually a placemat from Crate & Barrel ) for the background to these luscious pears. Unfortunately there was only one left as usual on sale.

Jelly Donut

I enjoy reading Kelly MacDonald's daily blog. She is in a donut painting war with a fellow daily painter.
I decided to try my hand at a Dunkin Donut jelly filled one. I would like to add that by the time I got around to painting it most of the powdered sugar melted off due to the high humidity we are experiencing now on the east coast.

Relaxed

A very relaxed banana pepper that made me laugh.

Monhegan Island

This is a painting view from behind the one room school house on Monhegan Island.

Yellow, Red, Hot and Green

Yellow, red, hot and green. I am going to put these in my kitchen when it is finished
going through a major remodeling. So much fun painting them. Soon I will be outside painting again. Heading up to Monhegan Island in Maine sometime in June.

Down the lane

Something to put us in the Christmas mood. This painting is an older one that I did. I couldn't resist showing it. The scene is near where I live on a cold snowy day. You can see Narragansett Bay in the distance.

Shorefront

I am posting a painting I did for the Spring Bull Gallery annual "Les Peittes Oeures" Exhibition.
I am happy to say it sold at the opening.

Jerusalem Marsh

I am posting today a painting that I just sold to a very nice woman who found me through my blog. She is from RI and told me she is sending it to a friend that once lived in the area. I had sold the original one months ago but she really wanted that one so I told her I could paint another for her. It is of the marshes down in the southern part of Rhode Island. The area is called Jerusalem. You drive down a road called Succotash to get to it. For those of you who have never heard of the word succotash it is a mixture of corn and lima beans. I love the names and the area and will never tire of painting it.

Quite Morning

The original of the above painting was done also on a workshop up in Maine. I admired the study so much I worked a more finished painting from it. Many times the one that I do outside will not be exactly as I want it to be so I either paint more into it or do it over. I think many Plein Air artist work this way. There are at times the perfect gem shows up and it is finished that moment outside. That is a pleasant feeling.

Monhegan Fog

This painting was done when I took a Plein Air workshop on Monhegan Island. I was painting at a small beach in town during a very foggy morning. That was the actual color of green slimy stuff.

Summer Path

I was at Sachuest Point looking towards Newport RI. last Tuesday. It was a hazy day. The background faded to lovely soft blues. This is a painting of one of the hiking paths. The trail is loaded with deer ticks so I sprayed not only me but the ground I was standing on and my painting bag.

It's a Boy!

We just got a new pup today. I thought I would show him off. He is a Boston Terrier and 9 weeks old. No name as of now. I think it would be nice to include my son Brian in the naming process. He will be home this weekend for a visit.

Violets

Since we have had only five non rainy days in RI. during June. I have tried another still life. My plien air group still gets together due to a offer from a member. She has thoughtfully let us use her studio.
Hopefully the sun will return for us on our next week.

Cup, Lemons and Orange

This painting was done from a still life set up. I worked on it during a rainy day here.
I hope to get out doors to paint soon.

Beach Family

This painting was from a differentstrokesfromdifferentfolk.blogspot.com challenge. I loved painting the reflections in the water. They added a sparkle. I felt the need to changed the composition of the beach family to my liking. That is what I enjoy about Karin Juricks challenges. She wants us to paint what we see in a photo not exactly what is printed.

Apples and Pears

I recently completed a small painting of Apples and Pears in oils on canvas. I have not been painting much being that I went through a sad time having to put my dog down. I am recovering from that and will get back into the swing of it soon.

Lemons

A few people have asked me to post my lemon painting so here it is.
